Providing Assistance through the Housing Choice Voucher (Section 8) Program
The Housing Choice Voucher program, formerly known as Section 8, succeeds because of local landlords like you who help families reach self-sufficiency and independence. Participating in this federally funded program provides you with a reliable monthly rent income from qualified and partially-screened individuals. Families pay a portion of their annual income towards the contract rent and utilities while SCCHA pays landlords the remaining contract rent via a Housing Assistance Payment (HAP).
